A WIRELESS NETWORK – THE RIGHT DEVICES

Wireless networks allow you to connect to the Internet without the aid of a cable. Wireless networks are not difficult to put together, even if the Internet provider does not install the equipment for you. It does take some specific hardware, but once you have the correct products, it only takes a few minutes to fully set up.

To begin, you need an Internet modem, a wireless router and an Ethernet cable. The Internet provider does install the modem for you, but you need to set up the wireless router yourself.

Connect the Ethernet cable into one of the “Out” ports of the Internet modem. Most Internet modems have multiple connection ports, as it is designed to hook up multiple devices at once. Once plugged in, connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into the “WAN” connection on the wireless router, then turn both devices on.

From here, you need to use the provided installation CD to create your own home network. Insert the CD into the computer and follow the provided instructions to create the network. These are all the devices necessary to create a network. From here, you can connect to the Internet with any wireless device.
